Grid Iron Sports Academy offers fun and exciting summer youth camps for ages 5-17 yrs old. Our camps are designed to provide children with a stimulating, structured, and action filled summer. Campers enjoy sports such as speed and agility training, basketball, football, soccer, and even track. The camp also provides access to other activities such as girl’s health and fitness routines that introduces them to Zumba, yoga, dance, and other physical activities.
We also support literacy in our summer camps. Our “TRACK AND READ PROGRAM” implements a literacy component where campers are required to read throughout the day at certain intervals. We track and log books read by campers while in camp. This service allows for campers to maintain or strengthen their academic awareness while school is out. School may be out for the summer, but learning should never stop.
Our campers attend sessions, which include information regarding nutrition and how to reduce the risk of obesity. All of our youth activities are geared towards introducing youth to an active lifestyle that promotes the motto “eat to live.” Grid Iron Sports Academy utilizes professional staff to mentor campers about health and wellness. Increasing youth and parents’ knowledge about health disparities improves the chance of them making good decisions about healthy life styles.
SUMMER CAMP SERVICES
ORGANIZED TEAM SPORTS ACTIVITIES: Campers participate in speed, agility, and resistance training programs to help improve muscle coordination, muscle memory, hand?eye coordination, and improved physical health and stamina. A great benefit to campers is improving their confidence and self-esteem since they receive instruction from professionally trained coaches and interact with qualified, positive role models.
GIRLS HEALTH & FITNESS: Research shows that girls play differently than boys. So, while many girls are interested in the typical team sports, others may wish to pursue alternate activities such as dance, aerobics or yoga. Female adolescents tend to be less active than their male counterparts. By providing a less physical strength threshold component, our Girl's Health & Fitness Program ensures that they receive the same opportunity to be introduced to a healthy fitness and nutritional lifestyle. Our girls youth program provides the opportunity to experience Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, and other cardio and healthy activities. This component is designed to help our female youth gain the knowledge of how to stay physically fit and maintain a healthy nutritional diet as they grow up.
JUNIOR YOUTH SPORTS PROGRAM: Our Junior Youth Sports Program is designed to develop hand?eye and muscle coordination among our younger camper athletes (from 5?8 years old). This program develops their ability to recognize that they control all of their body movements. The camper athletes develop hand?eye, feet, and body muscle coordination through several agility and team coordination drill techniques.
AWARD PROGRAM: Everything is earned at Grid Iron Sports Academy. This philosophy is stressed to campers regularly. “Everything is earned. Nothing is given." Campers learn to expect only what they have earned, which reinforces the character traits of responsibility and hard work. Awards range from certificates, plaques, and trophies to exciting field trips and events sponsored by Grid Iron Sports Academy and local businesses.
